This Privacy Policy describes how the MineDown mobile game ("MineDown", "the game", "we", "us", "our") handles information when you use it on iOS or Android. By installing or using MineDown, you agree to the practices described below.
1. Who we are
MineDown is published by Tafi Games, an independent game developer based in the Republic of Türkiye. For the purposes of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Turkish Personal Data Protection Law (KVKK, Law No. 6698), Tafi Games is the data controller for any personal data processed through the game.
For any privacy-related question or request, contact us at info@minedowngame.com.
2. The short version
- We do not ask for, collect, or store any account information, email address, or personal profile.
- Your gameplay data (high score, saved game state, language preference, audio/haptic settings, tutorial progress, "Remove Ads" purchase status) is stored locally on your device.
- The game displays ads via Google AdMob, which is a third-party service with its own data practices.
- The game uses Google Analytics for Firebase and Firebase Crashlytics to understand, in aggregate, how it is used and to diagnose crashes. This data is pseudonymous — it is never tied to your name, email or an account.
- You can make a single optional one-time purchase, "Remove Ads", to turn off interstitial ads. Billing is handled entirely by Apple or Google — we never see or store your payment details.
- We don't sell or share your personal data for cross-context behavioral advertising in the sense of the CCPA. There is nothing to sell — we don't have it.
3. Information stored on your device
MineDown uses your device's local storage (via React Native AsyncStorage) to remember:
- Your best high score.
- Your saved game state (so you can resume an in-progress game after closing the app).
- Audio, vibration and other in-game settings.
- Your selected language preference.
- Whether you've already completed the tutorial.
- Whether you own the "Remove Ads" purchase (a local yes/no flag that mirrors your store purchase, so ads stay off instantly when the app starts).
This information never leaves your device. Uninstalling the app deletes it. We have no copy.
4. Information collected by third parties
4.1 Google AdMob
MineDown uses Google AdMob to display ads. To serve and measure ads, AdMob may automatically collect:
- Your device's advertising identifier (Android Advertising ID, or Apple's IDFA on iOS when you have granted App Tracking Transparency permission).
- IP address, approximate location derived from it, device model, OS version, language and similar technical signals.
- Ad interaction data (impressions, clicks, view duration).
- For rewarded ads: a signal that you successfully watched the ad.
This data is processed by Google under Google's Privacy Policy. AdMob may also integrate ad networks ("mediation partners") that have their own privacy policies; the current list is maintained by Google here.
4.2 Google Analytics for Firebase & Firebase Crashlytics
To understand how MineDown is used in aggregate and to diagnose crashes and errors, the game uses Google Analytics for Firebase and Firebase Crashlytics (both Google services). These tools may collect:
- A pseudonymous app-instance / Firebase installation identifier.
- Device model, OS version, language, country and app version.
- In-game events (e.g. a game started, a score reached, an ad watched, a purchase attempted) and screen views — none of which contain your name, email or any account identifier.
- For Crashlytics: crash stack traces, the device state at the moment of a crash, and the breadcrumb log leading up to it.
This data is processed by Google as our data processor, under Google's Privacy Policy and the Firebase terms. It is not used to build an advertising profile of you and is not linked to any personal identity.
4.3 Consent for advertising (EU / UK / EEA / Switzerland)
If you use MineDown from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, the first time the app loads ads it shows a Google-certified consent banner (via Google's User Messaging Platform — UMP). You may:
- Consent to personalized ads — AdMob and its certified partners may use your data to show ads tailored to you.
- Refuse consent — AdMob will still serve non-personalized ads, which use only minimal data (e.g. coarse IP-based location) to comply with the ePrivacy Directive and GDPR.
You can change your choice at any time from in-game Settings → More Settings → Ad Preferences (this option appears only for users in jurisdictions where consent is required).
4.4 In-app purchases (Apple App Store / Google Play)
MineDown offers a single one-time, non-consumable purchase, "Remove Ads". The purchase is processed entirely by Apple or Google through their in-app billing systems. We do not operate a payment server and never receive or store your name, billing address, or card/payment details. The store tells the app only whether the "Remove Ads" entitlement is owned; we keep that yes/no result locally on your device (see section 3). When you tap "Restore Purchases", the app simply asks Apple or Google for the products you already own — this is handled by the store under its own privacy policy.
4.5 App stores (Apple / Google)
If you download MineDown via the App Store or Google Play, those platforms collect download, crash and basic device telemetry directly. Refer to the Apple and Google privacy policies for details.
5. Legal basis for processing (GDPR)
Where the GDPR applies, we rely on the following legal bases (Article 6 GDPR):
- Consent (Article 6(1)(a)) — for personalized advertising via AdMob, where you have actively agreed via the consent banner described above.
- Legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f)) — for non-personalized advertising, basic abuse / fraud prevention performed by AdMob, and pseudonymous, aggregate product analytics (Google Analytics for Firebase) and crash diagnostics (Crashlytics) needed to keep the game running and improve it. Our legitimate interest is to fund, operate and maintain a free game; this is balanced against your rights and reasonable expectations.
- Performance of a contract (Article 6(1)(b)) — for processing a "Remove Ads" purchase you initiate and delivering the corresponding entitlement to your device.
6. International data transfers
Because we use Google AdMob and Firebase, data described in section 4 may be processed in the United States and other countries where Google operates servers. Google's standard contractual clauses and supplementary safeguards apply to such transfers; see Google's frameworks page. MineDown itself does not transfer data internationally because it does not collect personal data on its own servers.
7. Children's privacy (COPPA & equivalents)
MineDown is intended for a general audience and contains no violence beyond cartoon explosions, no gambling, no in-app chat, no profiles, and only a single optional "Remove Ads" in-app purchase. The game displays third-party ads, so it is not directed at children under 13 (United States — COPPA), under 16 (some EEA Member States) or under the equivalent local threshold elsewhere.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us via any channel (for example, by emailing us), please contact us and we will delete it. If a child has installed the game without parental knowledge, uninstalling the app deletes all locally stored data.
8. Permissions the app requests
MineDown asks for as few permissions as possible.
- Internet (
android.permission.INTERNET): required to load ads, run analytics and crash reporting, and process in-app purchases. - Advertising ID (
com.google.android.gms.permission.AD_ID, Android): enables AdMob to serve ads. You can reset or limit it in your device's Google Settings → Ads. - Notifications (Android 13+
android.permission.POST_NOTIFICATIONS, and the iOS notification prompt): optional. Used only to send an occasional local "come back and play" reminder if you've been away for a few days. There is no remote/push server — reminders are scheduled on your device. You can decline the prompt or turn notifications off any time in your device settings. - Vibration (
android.permission.VIBRATE): optional, for haptic feedback. Can be turned off in Settings. - App Tracking Transparency (iOS only): optional. You can decline and still use the game; ads will be non-personalized.
9. Your rights
9.1 GDPR / UK GDPR (EEA, UK, Switzerland)
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you (we hold none on our servers).
- Rectify inaccurate data.
- Erase your data ("right to be forgotten").
- Restrict or object to processing.
- Data portability — receive your data in a portable format (not applicable: MineDown itself stores no personal data on our servers; for advertising and analytics data, please contact Google directly).
- Withdraw consent at any time for processing based on consent (e.g. personalized ads) — use Settings → More Settings → Ad Preferences in-game.
- Lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
Because MineDown itself processes no personal data on its own servers, requests about advertising and analytics data should be directed to Google, and requests about purchase data to Apple or Google. For anything else, email info@minedowngame.com and we will respond within 30 days.
9.2 CCPA / CPRA (California residents)
California residents have the right to know what personal information is collected, the right to delete it, the right to correct it, and the right to opt out of "sale" or "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not sell personal information for money. We may "share" advertising identifiers with AdMob for behavioral advertising; you can opt out by refusing consent in the in-app banner (where available) or by enabling "Limit Ad Tracking" / disabling personalized ads in your device settings.
9.3 KVKK (Türkiye — Law No. 6698)
If you are located in Türkiye, you have the rights granted by Article 11 of the Personal Data Protection Law (KVKK), including the right to learn whether your personal data is being processed, to request information about how it is processed, to learn the purposes of processing, to request correction, deletion or destruction, and to object to results arising solely from automated analysis. Because MineDown does not process personal data on its own servers, most of these rights are exercised against third parties such as Google. For local inquiries you may still write to info@minedowngame.com in Turkish or English.
10. Data retention
We don't operate any server that stores user data, so we have no retention period. Local-on-device data exists until you uninstall the app. Third-party services retain data according to their own policies — typically:
- Google AdMob: ad event data is retained per Google's policy (see Google's privacy policy linked above).
- Google Analytics for Firebase / Crashlytics: retained according to Google's Firebase retention settings (analytics event data for up to 14 months; crash data per the Crashlytics policy).
- App stores: retention is set by Apple and Google.
- Email correspondence: if you write to us, we keep your email and our reply for up to 24 months for support purposes, and then delete them.
11. Security
Because we don't transmit or store personal data on our own servers, there is no central database to breach. Data on your device is protected by your device's standard OS-level security. We rely on Google and Apple to maintain industry-standard security for the third-party data they handle.
12. Your choices summary
- Reset high score: in-game Settings → Reset High Score.
- Remove ads / restore your purchase: in-game Settings → buy "Remove Ads", or use "Restore Purchases" on a new device with the same store account.
- Change ad consent (EEA/UK/CH): in-game Settings → More Settings → Ad Preferences.
- Turn off ad tracking: use your OS-level privacy settings (iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking; Android: Settings → Google → Ads).
- Turn off reminders: decline the notification prompt, or disable notifications for MineDown in your device settings.
- Delete all data: uninstall the app.
- Ask a question or exercise your rights: email info@minedowngame.com.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we'll change the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where the change is material, mention it in the next app release notes.
